Intentional Technology Use
The Island School approaches technology in classrooms with intentionality and transparency. Since the school's founding, an emphasis on hands-on learning that engages all the senses and academic and interpersonal skills across disciplines has been a hallmark of the educational program. This is still true today. Given current technology use in public and private schools varies vastly, it is important for families to have a clear picture of what technology use looks like in our classrooms which is explained below.

What do
parents say?
"The Island School truly is a special place. In a world that gets faster and faster, and is more gamified all the time, we appreciate that TIS is a place where our child can still be a kid without many elements of modern tech distracting or hampering their development." -Current Parent
"The way the wonder of childhood is encouraged. Outdoor time. Hands on learning. Helping children work through problems and become more confident in advocating and expressing themselves."-Current Parent
