The Island School relies on active and generous fundraising to thrive. As with most independent schools, tuition at The Island School covers only part of the cost of educating a student. In order to keep tuition as affordable as possible, the school depends on fundraising to make up the difference between tuition income and actual cost.
All donations to The Island School Annual Fund are fully tax-deductible, providing a valuable opportunity for you to support our mission while also benefiting from tax advantages.

Every year, The Island School launches its Annual Fund in two phases: the Forest Fun Run and the Community Fund. The Forest Fun Run is a student-driven event, while the Community Fund is our “Community Ask,” inviting current families, alumni, friends, and former staff and faculty to support the vibrant educational environment our community cherishes. Together, these segments provide essential funding for student programs, faculty development, and campus enhancements that keep our school inspiring for all.

Annual Fund, Phase 1:
Forest Fun Run (Student Power!)
The Forest Fun Run kicks off our Annual Fund with some awesome student energy! Fifth graders take the lead on planning and promotions, and every K-5 student helps brainstorm and compose cheerful donation requests. Families set up personal donation pages and share these creative asks with friends and relatives. It’s a Friday morning in mid-October packed with running, laughter, and school spirit—our whole community cheering for every mile!
Thanks to our students and generous donors, the 2025 Forest Fun Run raised $16,300.
Annual Fund, Phase 2:
Community Fund (Everyone In!)
The Community Fund kicks off at the end of October and is the second phase of our Annual Fund and is really our big “Community Ask.” This is when we reach out beyond our students and current families to invite past families, alumni, friends, and former staff to join us in supporting the school. Together, our entire community powers the joyful learning, special programs, and vibrant events that make The Island School so unique and inspiring. Every gift helps us make magic happen across campus!
At The Island School, we believe economic diversity strengthens our community and enriches every student’s experience.
Our annual auction is dedicated entirely to supporting our Financial Aid Fund—all proceeds from our Paddle Call go directly toward making our exceptional education accessible to students from a wide range of financial backgrounds.
You can also support the Financial Aid Fund at any time throughout the year. Every gift, whether made during the auction or at another time, helps ensure The Island School remains inclusive, vibrant, and welcoming to all.
