How is tuition set?

Each January, our Board of Trustees reviews and sets tuition for the following school year. The process is thoughtful and considers several factors: changes in the cost of living, what comparable independent schools in our area charge, and any adjustments we're making to our programs or staffing. Our goal is always to balance affordability with the quality of experience we're committed to providing.

Will tuition change every year?

Most likely, yes — though we work hard to keep increases modest. Independent schools our size typically see annual increases of 3–4% to keep pace with rising costs, particularly salaries for our teachers and staff. Occasionally, a larger adjustment is needed, but that's the exception rather than the rule. We're committed to being transparent about changes well in advance so families can plan accordingly.

Is there financial aid or tuition assistance?

Yes — and it's a meaningful part of who we are. We dedicate 22% of our annual budget to financial aid, and 42% of our families currently receive some form of assistance. Awards range from partial support to up to 90% of tuition, depending on demonstrated need. If cost is a concern, we encourage you to apply — you may be surprised by what's available.

How will I be notified about my financial aid award?

Your aid award will be included with your child's enrollment or re-enrollment contract. If you have questions about your award before then, or want to understand how the decision was made, you're always welcome to reach out to us directly — we're happy to walk you through it.

Do families have to re-apply for aid every year?

Yes, families reapply annually through Clarity. We know it's one more thing on your plate, but the process is designed to be quick — under 30 minutes — and reapplying each year actually works in your favor: it ensures your award reflects your family's current circumstances, which can change from year to year in either direction.
