Extended Day Program

A place where discovery, collaboration, and imagination meet.

The Extended Day program is offered for all grades from 3:20-6:00 pm and 12:30-3:20 for Kindergarten extended day.

Program Philosophy
To expand on The Island School Philosophy: We provide a place where it is safe for children to risk, to learn, and to dream beyond the regular school day.

Program Structure
There are 3 sessions each year. The first session runs from September through Winter Break, the second session runs from January until Spring Break, and the final session runs April until the end of the year.

Every Extended Day Program is structured with an outdoor/play component along with time for snack. Then, the children have several options to partake in, from playing chess, filming creative homemade movies, take apart and rebuild small machines, scientific experiments, art projects, or study hall time. All classes will be on campus unless otherwise stated.

Investigate the following pages to learn more about what kids are saying about this enriching program and how to enroll in the Program.

Program fees
Pre-registration costs are $8 per hour and drop-in cost is $10 per hour. We will prorate the first 45 min. of each program, but then any part of an hour will be charged at the rate of a full hour. Costs are the same for all programs. Pre-registration costs are for those families that register and pay for their child's spot for a term at a time, on a regular schedule of days. Pre-registration rates may be paid at any point during the term, if you commit to the remainder of the term. (The fees will be pro-rated to the actual start date.)

Drop-in fees apply to anyone using the Extended Day program the day of, for one week only, or for a limited time during the term. Drop-in fees will be calculated and are due at the time of pick-up.

All program fees are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
