For Current Parents
Parents, grandparents, and relatives are a welcome and integral part of The Island School community.
We are a community of teachers, parents, relatives, and friends working together to help each child achieve his or her fullest potential.
Parents and grandparents help children with class projects, read with students, and share subjects of their own passion or expertise. Parents serve on the Board of Trustees, help out at work parties, in the classrooms, and on field trips. They run the library and organize special days and holidays. Our parents are the driving force behind our Spring Live and Silent Auction, an evening adult event, the school's major fundraiser. They support the school by giving to the Annual Fund, Capital Campaigns, and other fundraising events. Our PNAIS accreditation report states, "The Island School parents are not just supportive, they are essential". We agree wholeheartedly! The Island School is truly a family experience.
